About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: Lung histopathology and immunohistochemistry from OVA/OVA wild-type (+/+) and B cell-deficient (-/-) mice. H&E stain of formalin-fixed lung tissue from OVA/OVA wild-type (+/+) (A) and B cell-deficient (-/-) (B) mice showed a peribronchial and perivascular accumulation of inflammatory cells, including eosinophils. Immunohistochemical staining revealed increased numbers of CD3+ cells (red staining, arrows) in both OVA/OVA wild-type (C) and B cell-deficient (D) mice that were not seen in OVA/PBS control animals (not shown). B cells (B220+) were identified in the lungs of OVA/OVA wild-type mice (E) (red staining, arrows) but not in B cell-deficient mice (F). Sections shown are from a representative experiment. Original magnification: A-D, ×320; E and F, ×200. For further information, see article by MacLean and colleagues 379.
