Lateral view (two left panels) shows Hfh4 expression at the ventral node (anterior neural fold of the head process is en face; left is up). Ventral view shows Hfh4 expression at the midline node structure (midline anterior neural fold is down). Sagittal section (bottom panel) of the embryo shown in middle right panel demonstrates expression in the columnar cells of the ventral node.
