About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: In normal mouse bronchiolar epithelium, a neuroepithelial body (NEB), an innervated cluster of pulmonary neuroendocrine cells (shown by calcitonin gene related peptide immunostaining in red) is closely associated with attenuated, Clara cell secretory protein (CCSP)-expressing cells (shown in green). These NEB-associated CCSP-expressing cells are thought to be critical for renewal of the conducting airway epithelium following severe Clara cell depletion. For more information see article by Hong and colleagues 671.
